 Shinjuku City Japanese-Language Classes (SJC)

Shinjuku City offers Japanese-language classes in which Volunteers teach basic conversational Japanese for everyday living. Why not join a class in Shinjuku City?
           
 Eligibility Those whose mother tongue is not Japanese and who need
to learn Japanese essential to everyday living. These classes
are for beginners.
If the number of applicants exceeds capacity, those who live in
Shinjuku City will be given priority.
(Note: Those of  junior high school age and younger may not join
these classes.) Students may take up to two classes a week.
Time There are classes that meet once a week and those that meet twice a week.
The day of the week depends on the class location.

Period First term, April through July ;
second term, September through December ;
third term, January through March
(There are no classes during the year-end /New Year holidays or on national holidays.)
Location Various locations in the Shinjuku City,including Shinjuku Multicultural Plaza.
Please note that days and locations are subject to change.

Fees For classes once a week :
First term, 2,000 yen
second term, 2,000 yen
third term, 1,500 yen
For classes twice a week :
First term, 4,000 yen
second term, 4,000 yen
third term, 3,000 yen

★ Fees will not be discounted even if you enter the class
in the middle of the term.
★ There are no reimbursements once fees are paid.
★ If there is an opening, you can start in the middle of the term.
Apply  Please inquire with the office below. Admission is possible on
an ongoing basis if there are vacancies in a class.Send a fax,
e-mail, or letter to the Shinjuku Bunka Center
(Cultural Exchange Division, the Shinjuku Foundation
for Creation of Future).
Please be sure to give your address, name (with furigana),
telephone number, and nationality and indicate the day and
time of the Japanese-language class you wish to join.

Application You can make application for today’s Japanese lesson at 13:45pm.
The first 40 applicants will be accepted. You can not join the lesson
if the positions have been filled or you come late. Who can attend:
